MARK W. KELLY, Esq.- Mark W. Kelly has been a licensed attorney since 1981.  A native of Excelsior, (Minnetonka Class of 1974), Mr. Kelly attended Lawrence University, Appleton, Wisconsin (1978) and Hamline University School of Law (1981).  Mr. Kelly has served on the Hennepin County Personnel Board and was a member of the Excelsior Charter Commission and Planning Commission.  He has served as an assistant Minnetonka School District Attorney advising the Chief Operating Officer and Superintendent.  He served as a local prosecutor for twenty-five years on behalf of Greenwood, and at times, Excelsior and Long Lake.  Mr. Kelly has been the Greenwood City Attorney since 1994.  Mark served as the Excelsior Area Chamber of Commerce President, and managed the Excelsior 4th of July Celebrations for a decade.  He has been a member of Rotary (17 years) and served as its President.   In 1992, Mr. Kelly initiated the discussion and prepared the initial plan for an Excelsior Historic District.

Mr. Kelly carries on a law practice started by his father William F. Kelly in Excelsior in 1948.  The firm has been in existence more than 65 years.

  Family law matters relating to divorce and child support and post decree enforcement and modification proceedings.

Kelly Law Offices was established in Excelsior by William F. Kelly in 1948.  It serves the South Lake Minnetonka area Community and beyond, including Chanhassen, Deephaven, Greenwood, Excelsior, Minnetonka, Shorewood, Tonka Bay, Victoria, and, Wayzata.  Founder, ‘Frank’ Kelly was Shorewood’s first attorney.  He established the city code and zoning, help establish its parks, and over saw the installation of sewer in the early ‘70’s.  Frank guided Shorewood for a quarter century.  During his career, Wm. F. Kelly would legally represent every city in the south lake area.  In that role, he was instrumental in the creation of Minnesota’s first joint powers police department, the South Lake Police Minnetonka Department.  Frank Kelly served as the Minnetonka School District Attorney during the tenure of Superintendent Don Draayer (1968-1995).   Mark W. Kelly joined his Father’s law practice in 1981.
